Back in the day, when a young apprentice woodworker came of age, he built his own toolbox. The box listed here was made in the early 1900s. It came with some tools and pieces dating back to 1910. Some of the woodworking planes and tools in my shop were found with this box.
The craftsman who constructed this box was quite meticulous, and it shows in his technique. The box is as found and almost completely original, except for the middle hasp, which was replaced by it's owner some time ago. The left hasp is missing it's catch, but the box will hold it's weight and the tools as well.
This box would make a wonderful decorative piece, or you can store your own antique tools inside. There is plenty of room, and it is perfect for keeping the rust away.
